We are threatened with colder weather too, but don't think the snow is supposed to get this far south. Still, being where we are, we can't be sure.

We have hail, snow further north. Wales has snow, Some bits of France have aLOT of snow

We didn't have snow, but very strong winds on Wednesday, so we couldn't work. Has thrown out charcoal production out, but luckily it was a nice day yesterday so got one kiln fired. It did get rather chilly later on though.

We have had very mixed weather today; cold wind but sometimes sunny, sometimes 'precipitation' which I think covers most of the showers. Sleet, snow, soft hail and rain. Everything is starting to green up in spite of the weather. Trees are starting to break leaf, flowers everywhere, so really lovely.

Managed to get out into the main part of the wood today for a short while. The bluebells are lovely; a real royal blue. Primroses, both early and common dog violets, some toothwort going over a bit, and wood anemones. The early purple orchids haven't got further than a few leaves yet, so assume they either bloom the same time each year or are affected by day length rather than weather. The wood next to ours has the beech fairly well fully in leaf, and a few of ours are starting, but mainly still thinking about it. Hazel, hawthorn and a few others coming into leaf, so the lower levels are looking quite green although the tree tops generally still bare.

In the garden the primroses are still looking lovely, just a few cowslips in a sheltered corner and some false oxlips, which are a cross between the two. Think the cowslips in the main part of the lawn will be a bit later.

Not looking bad here at the moment. Went out into the main part of the woods on Friday, and the bluebells are really beautiful. Went out today and the different greens on the trees along the road a amazing. Wish I was a better painter to capture them. The beech leaves in the wood are starting to come out, hazel fairly well in leaf now and a oaks being a bit variable from bare to full leaf. Ash thinking about it.

Delivered some charcoal at a reasonable distance today, and was surprised to see that north of us the horse chestnut and hawthorn are in flower, and wisteria in full flower on houses. Think it must be because those particular places stay warm with the road or south facing. Our wisteria is getting longer buds, but the horse chestnut down the road isn't anything like in flower. Beech very patchy, and oak rather variable too.

Walking round the woods the other day with great niece to do a flora survey, we found one of the old beech trees in flower. Found one toothwort in a place we didn't expect it, but not that many of them around this year, although there were lots last year.
