Is it worthwhile persevering with my sweetcorn, this year ?

I have grown some 6ft tall heirloom varieties. They certainly are 6ft tall, but only 1 has 1 cob forming.

Grown in a square plot, plenty of wind and water and sun.

Is it best to pull them out now, or do we still have time.

Not sure where you are, but here in the south of England the sweetcorn season seems to be pretty well over. I don't seem to have much luck with it, only ever getting a reasonable crop once, so have given up with it.

I have always had great results and plenty whenever i grow sweetcorn. I have usually chosen shorter earlier varieties - which i have started indoors and planted out under cloches. I usually grow squashes underneath.

If you haven't got anything yet I'd give up and compost what you have got... It happens sometimes with most crops .
