This is my recipe to make about 25 biscuits;

5 oz butter
5 oz wholemeal plain flour
41/2 oz porridge oats
4 oz dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey (a not too sweet one is best)
1 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate
Approx 1 tablespoon milk

Either rub the fat into the flour, mix in all the other ingredients, or melt the butter over a very low heat and when it is nearly all melted, add the honey and stir. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl, add the milk to the butter and honey and then mix all ingredients. The amount of milk is a bit hit and miss as it depends on the flour. Drop about a desertspoon of mixture made into a ball onto a baking tray and cook at gas mark 2 ( 150 C, 300 F or 130 fan)for approx 30 mins until there is just a slight give at the middle of the biscuit. Cool on a wire rack. If needed, add a bit more porridge oats to thicken the mixture.
