Hmm it's the new technology that's a waste of space today. Get the local bus tracker on the phone and Kindle only for it to be out of action at source. Humf. I've been relying on others in the queue for years. But neither Kindle nor phone any use now. Till it's mended if ever.

But somehow I now seem to have an active YouTube on both Kindles. Found it on the searches on the new one and saved the bookmark. Hah - see how long it lasts shall we?

Microsoft is getting lippy. For a squillion years I've had a outlook email address that could be used on the old Kindle for when travelling. Or on Thunderbird on the desktop with no charge or adverts. Well both methods have ceased to work because MS seems to want to charge and I don't want to pay £1.99 a month. I can get outlook emails on the internet on computer with adverts as I have other MS products installed but it's still complaining.

I can now only get the longstanding Gmail email account on computer, mobile phone and kindles to cover all bases.

Guess who has spent part of the morning transferring essential account access to the Gmail account. You know, gas and electric, bank, one online grocer most commonly used, supplier of specialist shoes, local water board for the bill. Have one seed supplier already changed for obscure reasons to complicated to explain. Life goes on. More work to be done.

I don't seem to be able to reply to group comments on FB, although I can still reply to single people. Not sure what is up; I think it is FB wanting to use facial recognition, but I am not playing that game.

Wonder if the group admins have done something to you MR. First place to look/ask? Lots of suggestions on 'tinternet if you ask "why can't I reply to group postings".

Thought to get rid of Facebook (old technology) yesterday but decided that I still use it for local information/happenings.

on this machinery is currently not working, a microsoft update seems to have caused it to not recognize itself

the old phone still has it but the old phone is hard of multi tabbing so ordering things or using email log ins is a bit challenging

make it better= break it

It isn't just one group Florence, it is all of them. FB says open my device and then something about facial recognition. I'm mot willing to go down that route.

I certainly attribute some of my success as an engineer to having an ability to use cardboard and foil as jigs, the use of sticky tape and knowing a few useful knots!

Mind there's knowing the appropriate string to use.

I'm using my old reel of gardening twine to attach tomatoes to canes to prevent someone using your every day white thin parcel string. She hadn't thought that white string might snap stems.

Oh the joys of modern technology. Desktop email clients for Outlook email were a subject for discussion with the visiting technical support as my preferred one for the desktop is definitely old technology which is beyond using. In other words, Microsoft has scuppered the system by wanting payment we think. At present it's a case of online with adverts as nothing else appeals for the desktop.

How are we with YouTube with adverts? Have it on the Kindle at the moment and it's a pain in the backside. Are we all so old that we are avoiding adverts or are we paying? So far so good on the computer but who knows.

Generally put up with adverts for FB and games. I don't watch Youtube very much but skip the ads at the first opportunity. Don't pay for anything .
Haven't tried ad blockers yet.

Well tis problems with YouTube on the desktop today (total silence) but not on the phone. Things are sounding just fine on the phone. It worked on the desktop for the techie yesterday.

It's just the desktop that is acting up - the BBC radio is broadcasting loud and clear.

Will have to dig a bit. Will visit the Kindle before delving into support online.

Another cup of tea. Sorted YouTube. It's the music you see. So far so free. What works on one browser may suddenly not on another.

Many years of finding obscure really old musical favourites on YouTube which are no longer easily available elsewhere. And don't tell me that Amazon will help - modern stuff at a cost. Even the BBC has gone modern.

Anyway - all's well today.
